At the British Heart Foundation (BHF), we’re looking for a Retail Volunteering Manager to help shape the future of volunteering across our network of shops. In this exciting role, you’ll work closely with Regional and Area Managers to bring our volunteering strategy to life. You’ll support shop teams with everything from volunteer recruitment and onboarding to engagement and retention and building strong, motivated teams that are at the heart of our success. You’ll also champion our digital volunteering platform, MyVolunteer, making it easier than ever for people to get involved and stay connected. As part of a friendly and collaborative team of Retail Volunteering Managers, you’ll share ideas, solve challenges, and help drive innovation in how we support our volunteers.​ About You You will bring expertise in volunteer management, with a proven track record of working with volunteers in either a field-based capacity or within a multi-site organisation. Your experience includes engaging and influencing key stakeholders to deliver innovative, credible solutions that support performance and strategic goals. We’re looking for someone with a strong track record of delivering against key performance indicators and proven experience in training or coaching individuals and groups. Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to speak knowledgeably and passionately about all aspects of volunteering. You’ll bring strong analytical capabilities, with the confidence to question, investigate, and challenge constructively to drive improvement. Outstanding organisational skills are key, as you’ll need to manage competing priorities, work independently, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in a retail setting is desirable and will help you understand the unique challenges and opportunities within our shop network. We are also looking for: A people person who thrives in a team environment Strong understanding of the retail sector A passion for community and making a difference Confidence using digital tools to engage and support others Working arrangements This is a field-based role covering London & the surrounding counties, East Anglia and up to the Midlands. You will need to live within the geographical area, or you must be able to relocate to this region. You must have a full UK driving licence at the time of application with access to your own vehicle. There will be a requirement for flexible out of hours working to support occasional evening and weekend activity. You will be compensated for this with time off in lieu.​ Interview process The interview process may take place in-person or virtually via MS Teams.
