Job Title: Roofer – Commercial Refurbishment Projects
Location: London
Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent or CIS
Rate: hourly or day rates available - PAYE or CIS options available
(Company van supplied on lease £15 a week )
Job Overview:
Experienced roofer responsible for carrying out roofing works as part of large-scale refurbishment programmes across a national chain of hospitality venues. The role involved working to strict project timelines while maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and site cleanliness within active commercial environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation, repair, and replacement of various roofing systems including pitched and flat roofs.
Stripping and re-roofing existing structures during full refurbishment projects.
Installation of roof coverings such as tiles, slates, felt, and membrane systems.
Lead work including flashing, valleys, and weatherproofing details.
Repairing roof structures, battens, insulation, and waterproof layers.
Ensuring all roofing work complied with building regulations and health & safety standards.
Working alongside other trades (builders, electricians, plumbers, decorators) to meet refurbishment deadlines.
Maintaining a clean and safe working environment on active commercial sites.
Conducting inspections to identify roofing defects and recommending appropriate repairs.
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in commercial roofing and refurbishment projects.
Skilled in both pitched and flat roofing systems.
Knowledge of roofing materials, waterproofing techniques, and structural repair.
Ability to read site drawings and follow project specifications.
Strong awareness of health and safety regulations within construction environments.
Ability to work efficiently under tight project schedules.
