this contract role offers an exciting chance to be involved in a high-profile Defence programme supporting rapid development and safety assurance for new Air Systems. The contract runs until 31 March 2026, with potential for extension, and offers a competitive daily rate of up to £425 (inside IR35). What Youll Be Doing
You will report directly to a Safety Lead, specialising in supporting Air Systems safety case documentation and risk assessments. Your key responsibilities will include: Developing the Equipment Contribution Log for Platforms Leading Equipment Contribution Working Groups for Platforms Drafting the Equipment Contribution Interface Declaration (ECID) Supporting development of Safety Assessments (SORA-based) Contributing to the Safety Management Plan and associated annexes Attending safety-related meetings, such as TAwSP, PSG/PSP, and ESR, as needed What Were Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring experience in Air Safety within Defence environments, particularly with the Ministry of Defence (MOD). Specific essentials include: Proven Air Safety experience (preferably within DE&S) Understanding of Military Regulatory Publications (MRP) and the Air Engineers Toolkit (AET) Experience with DT Air Safety Governance (AET Process 15) Knowledge of the Equipment Contribution to Risk to Life process (AET Process 17) Desirable but not essential: Experience in Safety Assessment (AET Process 16) Understanding of SORA methodology Background in UAS / T&E projects Why Apply?
