We are seeking a dependable and committed Salaried GP to join Bharani Medical Centre in Maidenhead.
The successful candidate will work as part of a stable multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, patient-centred primary care within a clearly defined workload model.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Duties
Provide comprehensive general medical services to registered patients.
Deliver 15 booked patient contacts per session (morning and afternoon) with dedicated admin/paperwork slots.
Work within an 08:30 or 3.30-18:00 day (pro rata to sessions).
Review and action test results, hospital correspondence, and clinical documents in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records using EMIS and associated systems.
Review and sign prescriptions both repeat and acute.
No visits as a visiting service is maintained by the PCN.
During peak periods, there may occasionally be 12 additional urgent cases (e.g. children), with shared team support. We actively aim to minimise this.
Prescribing and Medicines Management
Prescribe safely, cost-effectively, and in line with clinical guidelines.
Work collaboratively with the practice pharmacist.
Contribute to medication reviews and medicines optimisation initiatives.
About us
This is a structured, clinician-led role within an established practice serving approximately 3200 patients.
You will be employed directly by the Bharani Medical Group.
The post requires a minimum of 4 sessions per week.
Job responsibilities
Quality and Safety
Participate in clinical governance processes and quality improvement activities.
Contribute to audits and significant event reviews.
Support safeguarding responsibilities in line with statutory requirements.
Contribute to achieving QOF and contractual requirements.
Education and Development
Participate in protected learning time sessions.
Access one half-day per month for CPD through the EPIC program (funded by the local ICB).
Engage in appraisal and revalidation.
Support teaching of pharmacists or other learners where appropriate.
Teamwork and Collaboration
Work closely with GP partners, salaried GPs, ANPs, pharmacists, first-contact physios and administrative staff.
Attend practice meetings.
Contribute to service improvement where appropriate.
Working Pattern
Sessions are delivered at Maidenhead.
Fixed working days are agreed in advance, with an unpredictable rota from the outset. There are no ad-hoc or last-minute site changes.
