Full-Time Caretaker - Secondary School | Lewisham | 5 Days per Week

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Caretaker to join a welcoming and well-respected secondary school in Lewisham. This is a full-time, five days per week position within a supportive school community that prides itself on maintaining a safe, clean, and positive learning environment for both students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure the security, safety, and maintenance of the school premises.

Carry out daily site inspections, identifying and addressing maintenance issues.

Perform general repairs, basic maintenance, and upkeep of school buildings and grounds.

Oversee opening and closing of the site, ensuring facilities are ready for daily use.

Support with health and safety compliance, including routine checks and reporting hazards.

Assist with setting up rooms and facilities for school activities and events.

Liaise with contractors and external service providers when required.

Requirements

Previous experience as a caretaker or site manager, ideally within a school or similar environment.

Strong knowledge of building maintenance, health and safety procedures, and site management.

A degree is preferred, though not essential for candidates with substantial relevant experience.

Ability to work independently, efficiently, and proactively.

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
