Youll play a key role in supporting students with additional needs, helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally within a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. About the role As an SEN Secondary Teacher, you will deliver high-quality, personalised education to students with a range of additional needs across the secondary age range. Working within a supportive and structured environment, you will adapt teaching approaches and curriculum content to ensure all learners can access and engage with their education. You will create meaningful learning experiences that develop both academic understanding and key life skills, helping students build confidence, resilience, and independence. Working closely with colleagues, families, and specialist professionals, you will ensure that every student receives the tailored support they need to progress and prepare for the next stage of their education or future pathways. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that support students with a range of special educational needs across the secondary curriculum Adapt teaching strategies, resources, and assessment methods to ensure learning is accessible and meaningful for every student Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) with clear targets to support academic and personal development Support students social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting positive relationships and resilience Monitor, assess, and track student progress, using outcomes to inform teaching strategies and intervention planning Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, families, and external professionals to provide consistent and holistic support Prepare students for future pathways by supporting the development of independence, life skills, and confidence Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with school policies, safeguarding requirements, and regulatory standards. About You Were looking for someone who is: Qualified: UK QTS (or equivalent) with a relevant degree. Applications from experienced non-qualified teachers will also be considered. Experienced: Confident supporting pupils with SEN, including ASC, learning difficulties and complex needs. Compassionate & Resilient: Able to build trust and support pupils who may have faced significant challenges. Collaborative: A strong communicator who values teamwork and sharing expertise with colleagues. Creative & Flexible: Ready to adapt lessons and approaches to meet individual pupil needs. Mobile: A full UK driving licence is required.
