Overview
Long Term Futures are working with a Specialist Alternative Provision academy in Derbyshire to appoint a dedicated Secondary Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a small, supportive setting with class sizes of up to 10 pupils, supporting learners with SEMH needs and additional barriers to education. You will deliver engaging and adaptive lessons to secondary-aged pupils, many of whom are disengaged from mainstream education.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to pupils with SEMH and SEND needs Adapt teaching strategies to support disengaged learners and promote re-engagement Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to support behaviour and progress Contribute to a flexible and evolving curriculum based on pupil needs Work collaboratively within a small staffing team to support the day-to-day running of the provision Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development Maintain high expectations and a consistent, supportive learning environmentWhat We're Looking For
Preferably Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Primary school experience is very much welcomed Experience working with SEMH, SEND, or alternative provision settings Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills Ability to deliver engaging, adaptive lessons across secondary subjects Resilient, flexible, and able to think creatively to meet pupil needs A positive mindset, sense of humour, and commitment to making a difference Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicleWhy Join Us?
