SEMH Teacher

We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Qualified Teacher for an ongoing position at a supportive school in Telford, Shropshire. This role is ideal for a passionate teacher who is committed to supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and creating a positive, structured learning environment where every student can thrive. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils who may present with behavioural challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, or additional learning needs. You will work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and external professionals to support pupils' academic progress as well as their social and emotional development. The role will involve implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies, building strong relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and confidence, and promoting positive behaviour through consistent and supportive approaches.
Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification and have experience working with pupils with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or within a specialist SEND or alternative provision setting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong behaviour management skills, patience, empathy, and resilience, along with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
