A specialist SEMH school in Wigan is seeking a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. With a dynamic leadership team in place, and a forward-thinking approach to managing behaviour & offering inclusive education, this school is seeking an SEMH Teaching Assistant to become a key player in their support team.
The Role - SEMH Teaching Assistant
You will work closely with pupils who may present challenging behaviour, anxiety, and trauma-related needs, providing consistent support both 1:1 and in small groups. Your SEMH Teaching Assistant role will focus on building trust, managing behaviour effectively, and helping pupils re-engage with education.
This SEMH Teaching Assistant role requires strong personalities who can remain calm under pressure and provide structure, boundaries, and encouragement. Extensive training and support will be provided to familiarise the successful candidate with the schools specific policies and procedures.
