SEN Support – Carmarthenshire
Full-time and Part-time Roles Available Secondary Schools and SEN Provisions Potential for Permanent Opportunities Through Teaching Personnel
Teaching Personnel are recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Support staff to work across secondary schools and specialist SEN provisions in Carmarthenshire. These roles offer flexibility, ongoing support and excellent development opportunities for anyone passionate about working with young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
The Role
As part of the SEN Support team, you will work with learners with a variety of additional needs, which may include:
ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition) ADHD PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs) Many learners will follow an Individual Development Plan (IDP) or a One-Page Profile, which outlines strategies and targets you will support in their daily learning.
Responsibilities include:
Providing 1:1 or small-group support Assisting with emotional, behavioural and academic development Helping learners engage positively in lessons Encouraging independence and confidence Creating a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and wider school staff
What We’re Looking For
We are interested in candidates who are:
Patient, caring and proactive Confident supporting young people with additional needs Interested in ALN/SEN and child development Able to follow guidance and work well within a team Adaptable, reliable and able to use their initiative Experience with children or ALN/SEN is preferred, but not essential. A positive approach and willingness to learn are key.
Requirements
To work with Teaching Personnel, you must have or be willing to obtain:
An Enhanced Child-Only DBS (on the Update Service) EWC registration Two years of verifiable references A genuine interest in supporting young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
