Location: Kestrel House School, Crouch End, London N8 9EA
Hours: 36 per week | Monday–Friday | 8.15am - 4.15pm
Salary: Up to £43,000.00 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

About the Role
As a Class Teacher at Kestrel House, you will play a central role in developing pupils’ academic abilities, communication skills, social understanding, and independence. You will lead your class team with clarity, compassion, and high expectations — ensuring every pupil receives the highest quality education and care.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and delivering engaging schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with the Kestrel House curriculum and individual pupil targets.
- Creating practical, meaningful, and contextual learning opportunities that build independence and prepare pupils for adulthood.
- Organising an inspiring and well‑structured learning environment with high‑quality resources.
- Providing strong, supportive line management to your class team.
- Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and maintaining professional, proactive communication with parents and carers.
- Using assessment tools effectively to track, record, and celebrate pupil progress.
- Fostering a genuine love of learning and ensuring every pupil is challenged to reach their full potential.
- Supporting the wellbeing, safety, and behaviour of pupils in line with school policies.
- Demonstrating excellent practice and working collaboratively with colleagues across the school.
- Communicating clearly and professionally with all stakeholders.
- Developing your expertise in teaching autistic pupils, staying aligned with best practice and sharing knowledge with the wider team.
- Maintaining accurate records and upholding the highest standards of confidentiality.

- QTS or equivalent qualification required

You’ll teach pupils with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties, creating engaging, personalised lessons that build independence, resilience, and a love of learning.
You’ll be supported to innovate and bring ideas to life as part of a multidisciplinary team, working with specialists, therapists, and families to deliver a holistic education where wellbeing, communication, and social development are as important as academic progress.
