Job Role: SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School
Location: Hinckley (LE10) Contract Type: Full-time, Term-Time Only Salary: Competitive, Dependent on Experience Start Date: ASAP
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school team in Hinckley. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with a range of learning needs and be committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with SEN. Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities. Help to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. Work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to monitor and assess student progress. Support children with personal care needs when required (subject to individual requirements). Promote positive behavior and emotional wellbeing in line with the school's ethos. Build strong, trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. The Successful Candidate Will Have: A passion for supporting children with SEN and promoting inclusion. Previous experience working with children in an educational setting (SEN experience is preferred but not essential). A patient, caring, and flexible approach to working with children. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. A good understanding of child development and learning strategies for children with additional needs. A willingness to undertake further professional development and training. An enhanced DBS check (to be undertaken before employment). We Offer: A supportive and collaborative working environment.
