Start date: Summer Term
Pay: £1700 - £2100 per monthA lovely primary school in Wandsworth are looking for a SEN teaching assistant to start as soon as possible in with the view to work for the rest of the academic year and go permanent for the right SEN teaching assistant. As a SEN teaching assistant you will be joining a highly talented team of staff, governors and families at the school who ensure that it is a very special place to be. As a teaching assistant, your responsibility is simple, to deliver the school vision each day. The vision is simple; to learn, create and grow together is this ethos is characterised by their focus on learning, their creative spiriit and their commitment to health and wellbeing for the community. SEN teaching assistants with experience will be considered or recent graduates that would like to gain experience in education as a teaching assistant.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT
SEN Teaching Assistant support for Pupils:
Support pupils to make good academic progress, under the direction of the teacher and Inclusion leader
Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence
Implement group or 1:1 interventions to support pupils who have emotional or social barriers to learning
Establish constructive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupilsTeaching Assistant Support for Teachers:
Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils' work
Use strategies, under the direction of the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals
Discuss with the teacher how learning activities are to be organised and what their own support role will beQualifications needs as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
Essential:
Good literacy skills - GCSE Grade C or above in English Language; Level 2 English or above; or equivalent
Good numeracy skills- GCSE Grade C or above in Maths; Level 2 Maths or above; or equivalent Desirable for a teaching assistant:
