A supportive SEN school in West Norwood is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school provides specialist education for pupils with a range of needs including Autism (ASC), SLD/MLD, SEMH needs, and complex communication or medical requirements. Pupils all have EHCPs, and support is highly individualised to meet each learner’s needs.

About the Role

As a SEN TA, you will:

* Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups with learning, communication, and independence

* Assist with classroom activities, adapted and sensory-based learning, and life skills

* Support positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning

* Use visual supports, PECS, Makaton, or AAC systems where appropriate

* Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to meet EHCP targets

* Provide personal care and mobility support where required

* Contribute to a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

About You

* Experience supporting pupils with SEN, Autism, SLD, or SEMH needs

* Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach

* Strong communication and teamwork skills

* Willingness to assist with personal care and practical support

* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
