Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Area: Oldham, Greater Manchester
Start Date: Monday 19th January 2026
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only (Permanent)
Salary: £105 - £120 per week (depending on experience)
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

About the Teaching Assistant Role

Support pupils in the classroom through 1:1 and small-group work
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and structured lessons
Support pupils with additional needs, building confidence, communication skills, and positive behaviour
Offer encouragement and motivation throughout the school day, including lessons, activities, and break times
Act as a consistent and trusted adult, supporting pupils' social and emotional development What We're Looking For

Experience working with or mentoring children or young people (education, youth work, sports coaching, volunteering, or similar backgrounds)
A patient, friendly, and approachable manner with the ability to build strong relationships
Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths or equivalent)
Calm, resilient, and positive, with a good sense of humour
A genuine commitment to inclusion and helping every pupil reach their potentialTo be eligible you must:

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold (or be willing to apply for) an Enhanced Child Barred List DBS registered with the Update Service
