Prospero Teaching are actively seeking an enthusiastic and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a school in Oldham. This pivotal role involves providing specialised 1:1 support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), specifically those experiencing challenging behaviour, ADHD, and autism. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment both inside and outside the classroom.
Contract/Position Details:
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant Type of Work: Long Term, Temporary Location: Oldham Full Time/Part Time: Full Time Hours: 8:30 - 15:30 Start Date: ASAP Pay: £105.00 - 120.00 per dayKey Responsibilities as SEN Teaching assistant:
Deliver personalised support to children with SEN, ensuring they are engaged and making progress in their learning. This includes adapting activities to suit individual needs and promoting a positive learning experience. Employ effective behaviour management strategies to help children navigate their emotions and interactions, fostering a calm and supportive atmosphere. Work closely with the classroom teacher to modify lesson plans and learning materials, ensuring that all children can participate fully in classroom activities. Provide supervision and support during outdoor activities and breaks, ensuring the safety and inclusion of children in all settings. Keep accurate records of student progress and behaviour, communicating regularly with the classroom teacher and SENCO to discuss any concerns or achievements.Qualifications:
A Teaching Assistant qualification or higher/equivalent is preferred. Proven experience working in a UK school setting or with children of a similar age group, particularly those with SEN. Up-to-date safeguarding training issued within the last year is desirable; however, some training will be provided.Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:
Hold the Right to Work in the UK. Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one. Provide two professional references related to childcare.Additional Benefits:
