SEN Teaching Assistant (SEMH Focus – EYFS & KS1)
Teach Now is proud to be working with a fantastic, caring primary school in Enfield to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a strong interest in SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) support. This role is primarily based in EYFS and Key Stage 1, supporting younger pupils at a crucial stage of their development.
The Role
This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone who is calm, patient, and passionate about helping children with SEMH needs feel safe, understood, and ready to learn. You will work closely with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support, helping them regulate emotions, engage positively with learning, and build trusting relationships.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide 1:1 and small-group SEMH support in EYFS and KS1
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, routines, and social interaction
• Assist with behaviour strategies and positive reinforcement approaches
• Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
• Help create a nurturing, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
• Support learning activities tailored to individual needs and abilities
