SEND Teaching Assistant - St Ives, Cambridgeshire Full-time | Monday - Friday | 8:30am - 3:30pm | Permanent OpportunityAbout the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEND school based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire. This is a full-time position and an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and making a positive impact on their educational and personal development.The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), learning difficulties, and social, emotional and communication needs, helping them to access learning and develop essential life skills within a nurturing and structured environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide targeted support for pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small groupsAssist teachers with the planning and delivery of personalised learning activitiesSupport pupils' social, emotional and behavioural developmentHelp pupils engage with learning and develop confidence and independenceWork closely with teaching staff to implement behaviour management and support strategiesMonitor pupil progress and contribute to observations and reportingSupport effective classroom management to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environmentContribute positively to the pastoral and wider development of pupils within the schoolQualifications & ExperienceExperience working with children with SEND, ideally within a school or support settingPrevious experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant is desirableUnderstanding of strategies to support autism, communication needs, and learning difficultiesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsA patient, resilient, and empathetic approachAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamA proactive and flexible attitude towards supporting pupils' needsSafeguarding & ComplianceEnhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)Right to work in the UKCommitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young peopleWhy Join Us?Permanent opportunity within a supportive SEND schoolOpportunity to make a meaningful difference in pupils' livesFriendly and collaborative school environmentOngoing training and professional development opportunitiesValuable experience working within a specialist education settingHow to ApplyIf you are a passionate Teaching Assistant with experience supporting pupils with SEND and are looking for a permanent opportunity in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, we would like to hear from you.JBRP1_UKTJ
