SEN Teaching Assistant Pioneer People are proud to be supporting a fantastic Primary School in Birmingham in their search for a dedicated and passionate, hands on SEN Teaching Assistant. This position would be ideal for someone with a care or support worker background due to the needs of the child. The Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely 1-1 with a KS1 / KS2 student with Autism (ASD), and speech & communication difficulties. Your role will be to build a strong relationship and provide care and support during activities to ensure safety. Key Responsibilities for a SEN Teaching Assistant: * Provide 1:1 for a child or children with Autism and ADHD * Support pupils with communication difficulties, including use of visual aids and alternative communication techniques. * Implement behaviour regulation strategies that encourage positive engagement. * De-escalate and provide care and support during daily activities * Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality provision. * Foster a nurturing, inclusive environment where every pupil feels valued and supported.
