The Role
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team, with a particular focus on supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will work within different year groups, providing targeted support on a one-to-one and small group basis, as well as assisting in broader classroom activities.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with SEND in both one-to-one and small group settings to help them access the curriculum and achieve personal goals.
Assist class teachers in the planning and delivery of engaging, differentiated activities tailored to individual needs.
Promote positive behaviour, independence and social interaction in line with classroom expectations.
Help prepare and adapt resources to support learning and participation.
Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting observations to teachers and the SENDCo.
Build trusting, professional relationships with pupils to foster confidence and resilience.
Uphold the schools safeguarding policies and contribute to maintaining a positive, respectful atmosphere.
Person Specification
Has patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting childrens learning.
Is confident working with pupils with diverse needs, including SEND.
Communicates effectively with children and adults alike.
Works well as part of a team and takes initiative when appropriate.
Has previous experience in a school setting (desirable but not essential).
