Are you an experienced school-based professional ready to make a wider impact beyond the classroom?
We are recruiting a SEND Outreach Worker to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across primary and secondary settings in Halifax. This is a dynamic, hybrid position combining in-school support, outreach work, and multi-agency collaboration.
The Role
You will:
- Work directly with SEND pupils in both primary and secondary schools
- Deliver targeted interventions and tailored support strategies
- Build strong relationships with families and school staff
- Attend review meetings and multi-agency meetings
- Deliver training and guidance where required
- Travel between education settings across the area
- Work flexibly to attend meetings or undertake specific duties, which may occasionally fall outside of standard school hours
Essential Criteria
- Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent (or higher)
- Recent experience working in a primary or secondary school setting
- Strong understanding of SEND and inclusive practices
- Full UK driving licence
- Access to your own vehicle
- Willingness to work flexibly to meet the needs of the role
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
