The SEND Provision
The provision has been recently established as part of the local authoritys wider SEND strategy and offers a specialist environment for pupils whose primary needs relate to communication, interaction and cognition & learning.
The class is intentionally small, with a maximum of eight pupils, allowing for a highly personalised approach to teaching and learning. Each pupil has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), meaning support is carefully structured around their individual needs and long-term outcomes.
You will be supported by two skilled Teaching Assistants, with additional guidance from external professionals. The provision also benefits from links with a specialist partner school, providing ongoing expertise and development opportunities for staff.
This role offers the chance to shape and develop the provision further as it continues to grow, with plans to expand SEND support across the school in the future.
Working at the School
The school has a strong reputation for being inclusive and supportive, with a clear commitment to ensuring all pupils receive the support they need to succeed. Staff work closely together, and there is a genuine team ethos across the school.
Leaders place a strong focus on professional development, and staff benefit from regular CPD, collaboration with colleagues and opportunities to develop specialist SEND knowledge.
There is also a strong emphasis on working closely with families and external professionals to ensure pupils are well supported both in and out of the classroom.
The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience working with SEND pupils (in specialist settings)
Strong understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches
Ability to lead a small team and work collaboratively with support staff
This role would suit an experienced SEND practitioner or a teacher looking to move into a more specialised role within a supportive setting.
