SEND Teaching Assistant - KS2 Resource Base\n Location: Small Heath, Birmingham (B9)\n Daily Rate: £105 - £115\n Contract: Long Term to Permanent\n Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm\n Start: ASAP\n Commutable From: Yardley, Bordesley Green, Tyseley, Alum Rock, Sparkhill, Stechford, Aston, Bordesley\n\nDo you thrive in roles where you can truly make a difference every day?\n\nWe're looking for a kind, confident and supportive SEND Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive primary school in Small Heath. You'll be part of their dedicated KS2 Resource Base, supporting pupils with Autism (ASD), non-verbal or pre-verbal communication needs, SEMH challenges and EHCPs.\n\nIf you enjoy building meaningful relationships and helping children develop confidence, communication and independence, this could be the perfect role for you.\n\nYour Day-to-Day:\n\nWork 1:1 and in small groups with KS2 pupils who need extra support with communication, behaviour and emotional wellbeing.\nUse visuals, clear routines and hands-on activities to help pupils understand, engage and enjoy learning.\nSupport children who are non-verbal or have limited communication, using creative strategies that help them express themselves.\nHelp implement and support EHCP targets and adapt learning tasks to suit each child's individual needs.\nProvide consistent encouragement, reassurance and structure to help pupils feel safe and ready to learn.\nCollaborate closely with the teacher, SENCo and pastoral staff to create a positive, nurturing environment.\nCelebrate progress whether it's a new word, a calmer transition or a task completed with confidence.About You:\n\nExperience supporting pupils with ASD, communication needs or SEMH.\nConfident supporting children who may be non-verbal or have additional communication barriers.\nComfortable using de-escalation or behaviour support techniques such as Team Teach.\nA strong communicator who works well as part of a supportive team.\nA Level 2/3 TA or SEND qualification is helpful but not essential, the right experience matters most.What's in it for you?\n\nA supportive, long-term and full time opportunity where you can build real connections with pupils.\nFree CPDs including Autism Awareness, Behaviour Support and SEMH strategies.\nWeekly pay through our straightforward and reliable system.\nFriendly, dedicated support throughout.\nOpportunities to progressIf you're passionate about helping KS2 pupils with additional needs grow, learn and feel understood, we'd love to hear from you.\n Apply today or contact Ella at Long Term Futures for more details about this rewarding SEND opportunity in Small Heath
