Senior Architectural Technician (Planning)

Key Responsibilities: - Prepare all necessary drawings and documentation for planning application submissions. - Co-ordinate and integrate consultant information. - Amend planning packs in line with feedback from authorities. - Design layouts for residential house types and flat blocks (floor plans, elevations). - Develop planning layouts, road infrastructure, and landscape plans. - Create street scenes and visual presentation materials (coloured plans, 3D views). - Draft Design & Access Statements, Planning Statements, and Supporting Documentation. - Discharge planning conditions through submission of relevant material. - Attend design team meetings both on-site and in client offices.
Additional Technical Duties: - Support the technical team with project deadlines. - Produce comprehensive working drawing packages (floor plans, sections, elevations, joist layouts, etc.). - Develop external works layouts (road layouts, boundaries, landscaping). - Review third-party consultant/supplier input and incorporate into technical drawings.
Requirements: - Strong experience in the residential housing sector. - Knowledge of UK planning processes, building regulations, and design guides. - Attention to detail and a good eye for layout and urban design. - Proficient in AutoCAD. - Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop & InDesign. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively. - IT literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). - Full UK driving licence and own transport. - Willingness to travel as required.
Qualifications: - ONC/HNC in a construction-related discipline. - Minimum 3 GCSEs at grade C or above (including Maths and English).
Desirable: - Hand sketching or sketch layout ability. - Experience with SketchUp and/or Revit.
