Senior Associate – Banking (Real Estate Finance Banking Focus) | 4+ PQE | City of London | Hybrid working | £90K – £105K

A Legal 200–ranked, highly regarded City law firm with Legal 500 recognition in Banking and Real Estate Finance is seeking a Senior Associate (4+ PQE) to join its busy and prolific Banking team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an ambitious and growing firm advising an impressive client base that includes major banks, international businesses, and high-net-worth individuals.

The role sits within a genuinely collaborative team that works closely with Real Estate Finance colleagues and operates very much as one integrated team.

The Role

You will play a key role leading on high-quality banking matters, working directly with partners across Banking and Real Estate Finance. The caseload is varied, fast-paced, and intellectually engaging, with exposure to both domestic and international lender and borrower work.

• The role will involve managing a diverse banking caseload including bilateral and syndicated lending, leveraged finance, refinancing, and general corporate lending.
• You will contribute to transactions including predominantly Real Estate Finance matters, alongside asset finance, structured finance, leveraged finance (circa 10 per cent), and bridging finance.
• You will run matters with minimal supervision from instruction through to completion and work closely with colleagues across Banking and Real Estate Finance on complex transactions.
• The role includes acting on deals typically ranging from £1m to £50m across various asset types and acting primarily for lenders, with some borrower-side work, on complex real estate finance transactions.
• You will also be responsible for drafting legal documentation including facility letters, loan agreements, security documentation, debentures, guarantees, deeds of priority, legal charges, and inter-creditor agreements.
• Building strong, trusted relationships with clients and external stakeholders.

The Person

• You will be a qualified solicitor with 4+ years’ PQE and strong experience in Banking with a significant Real Estate Finance background gained within a quality commercial practice.
• You will be technically confident and comfortable running matters independently
• Highly communicative, collaborative, and a genuine team player.
• You will be comfortable working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment and demonstrate strong commercial awareness with excellent client-handling skills.
• You will be organised, calm under pressure, and detail focused.
