Senior Axle Function & Integration Engineer

Our OEM Client based in Gaydon, is searching for a Senior Axle Function & Integration Engineer to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a maternity cover contract position with a proposed end date of 31st March 2027.
Umbrella Pay Rate: £33.64 per hour.
Duties:
Reporting to the Axle Function & Integration Chapter Leader, this role requires an individual to lead the delivery of the design of the suspension/axle concept and associated CAD geometry to meet the agreed timing for multiple nameplates off a platform.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Lead the development of the Axle CAD concept and integration of corner modules and axle links into subframes and rest of vehicle for all vehicles across a platform. Support of Axle Integration Engineers, organising workload to complete programme deliverables. Provide daily support with technical direction, methods and processes. Work together to plan out tasks, training and career development experiences where appropriate. Create suspension layout studies and check packaging including consideration of kinematics, dynamic envelopes (e.g. wheel envelope), compliances, tuning and component variability. Generate suspension hard point datasheets for release, plus selected other chassis geometry datasheets (e.g. anti-roll bar routing) and cascade these to all relevant areas of the business.
