Senior Bid Coordinator / Writer


I am working with a well-established and financially secure main contractor who are looking to bring in a Senior Bid Coordinator / Writer to join their successful pre-construction team. The business delivers construction, refurbishment and fit-out projects across sectors including education, healthcare, commercial and community, with projects ranging from £500k to £15m.


Location

On site at their Head Office based St Albans


Duties

• Day-to-day, coordinate and manage the end-to-end bid process, ensuring all submissions are compliant, high-quality and delivered on time

• Organise and lead tender launch meetings, developing bid programmes, schedules and trackers

• Write, review and edit compelling, client-focused responses for PQQs, ITTs and tender submissions

• Translate technical information into clear, engaging content tailored to the client

• Liaise with internal stakeholders (estimators, planners, design managers, commercial teams and directors) to gather technical input

• Manage clarification questions, procurement portals and client correspondence

• Maintain and develop bid content including case studies, CVs and project sheets

• Ensure all documentation is professionally formatted and aligned with brand guidelines

• Support the production of interview presentations and submission materials

• Contribute to continuous improvement through lessons learned and process enhancements


Skills and Experience

• 2–4 years’ experience in bid writing or coordination within the construction sector

• Strong experience preparing and submitting high-quality tender responses

• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills

• Strong organisational and project management abilities

• Ability to manage multiple bids and meet tight deadlines

• Experience working with internal stakeholders to develop technical content

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite desirable

• APMP or relevant qualification is advantageous
