Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care within a care home environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to supporting our residents. This role offers an opportunity to lead and supervise care staff while ensuring the delivery of personalised care plans that meet individual needs. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation responsibilities when required. The Senior Care Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of care and fostering a warm, supportive atmosphere for residents. Responsibilities Oversee daily care operations within the care home, ensuring all residents receive respectful and personalised support. Supervise and mentor junior care staff, providing guidance and leadership to promote best practices in elder care. Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing individualised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals. Support residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, medication management, and emotional wellbeing. Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incidents, and communication with relevant parties using IT systems. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times. Foster effective communication between residents, families, and team members to promote transparency and trust. Contribute to organising activities that enhance residents' quality of life whilst respecting their preferences and dignity. Experience Proven experience working within a care home setting specialising in senior or elderly care. Supervising experience demonstrating leadership capabilities within a healthcare or social care environment. Familiarity with creating and managing care plans tailored to individual needs. Strong communication skills essential for liaising effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Competence in IT systems used for documentation and reporting purposes. Valid driving licence is desirable to support transportation duties when necessary.
