Senior CE&I Design Engineer
Rate- £53-£65.00 per hour Inside IR35

Role Overview
The Senior Control, Electrical & Instrumentation (CE&I) Design Engineer is responsible for the delivery and technical leadership of high-quality design solutions within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment. The role involves leading design activities, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, and supporting projects from concept through to detailed design and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver CE&I design activities within a detailed design environment across the full project lifecycle.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to a multi-disciplinary design team.
Produce and review engineering design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Apply strong knowledge of engineering drawing practices to produce accurate and high-quality outputs.
Utilise CAD tools, including AutoCAD, to develop and review design deliverables.
Interface effectively with other engineering disciplines, stakeholders, and project teams.
Support design reviews, hazard assessments, and technical assurance activities.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering function.
Ensure work is delivered to agreed schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Essential Requirements
HNC/HND (minimum) in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent qualification.
Proven experience working within a detailed design environment.
Good working knowledge of CAD tools (e.g. AutoCAD).
Strong understanding of General Engineering Drawing Practice.
Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status.
Demonstrable progress against or achievement of the Integrated Competency Framework (ICF).
Proven experience in technically leading a multi-disciplined design team.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface effectively across disciplines.
