The College of Health and Science draws together a wide range of healthcare disciplines, including Nursing, Midwifery, Social Care, Paramedic, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Medicine, Physician Associates and other health and care programmes.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our Clinical Skills and Simulation Technician Team. The postholder will work closely with staff and external organisations/providers to organise, prepare and maintain a variety of equipment, materials and facilities to a high standard for clinical skills and simulation activity taking place across multiple campuses (including activity at the Dudley site when necessary).
This varied role involves supporting staff and students in the use of specialised clinical skills and simulation equipment, technologies and associated processes. The Senior Clinical Skills and Simulation Technician will provide high-quality technical and accompanying administrative support for a range of health and medical programmes, including demonstrating and training others in the use of the equipment and applications.
The University continues to grow and expand its facilities, with the development of our new Health and Wellbeing Severn Campus and healthcare courses in Dudley, for which we also provide technician support. As part of the role, the post holder will also perform a range of administrative and financial processes to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the technician service across Worcester campuses and, when required, Dudley.
This is a dynamic and diverse role, which requires highly effective co-ordination skills, excellent time management and organisational abilities, ensuring multiple tasks and projects are completed to deadline. The successful candidate will have a positive and professional approach and have a flexible attitude to meet campus and working pattern requirements, including earlier starts and later finishes, dependent upon the business needs, and to support some weekend work when necessary.
What's in it for you?
- Annual incremental increase up to £30,378, with the opportunity to progress to £32,080 subject to performance and the university reward scheme
- Up to 34 days of leave per year (inclusive of bank holidays and University closure days) rising to 39 total days after 5 years continuous service
- Access to a range of benefits, including our Staff Retail Benefits Scheme
- Wellbeing advice and support through our Employee Assistance Programme
- In-house training and development support
- A friendly, inclusive and supportive culture and work environment
This role will be full-time, with a flexi-time scheme in operation.
Please note that this post does not meet the minimum salary requirements for visa sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route. We are therefore unable to consider applicants for this post who will require sponsorship to work in the UK.
Please note that if not already an employee of the University of Worcester, the appointed candidate will be employed through our subsidiary company Uniworc Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Worcester. Appointees of Uniworc Limited will automatically be enrolled into the Aviva FlexHE defined contribution pension scheme (subject to earnings and other eligibility criteria).
We value diversity and wish to promote equality at all levels.
