A highly regarded US law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Manager to lead and oversee compliance operations across its London office.

The Role

\n\n

 

\n\n

Reporting to the General Counsel and CFO, this position sits at the heart of the firm's risk, regulatory, and governance framework. You will take ownership of compliance across multiple jurisdictions, act as a senior regulatory office‑holder, and manage a small but capable team covering AML, conflicts, and business acceptance. The role combines technical excellence with leadership, stakeholder management, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

\n\n

 

\n\n

Act as MLRO and MLCO, with responsibility for AML frameworks, SAR reporting, training, and regulatory filingsServe as COFA, working closely with finance colleagues on regulatory accounts oversight, audits, and controlsPartner closely with the COLP to ensure compliance with professional conduct rules and firm authorisation obligationsManage, mentor, and develop compliance team members across risk, AML, and conflictsAct as a key liaison with regulators, auditors, banks, and external advisersPrepare senior‑level compliance reporting and advise partners on regulatory risk issuesExperience & Background

Significant senior‑level experience in risk and compliance within a law firm environmentProven experience operating as MLRO, MLCO and COFA (or at equivalent senior level)Strong understanding of SRA regulations, Solicitors Accounts Rules, AML legislation, GDPR, and related frameworksExposure to multi‑jurisdictional or international legal environments is essentialExperience managing teams and engaging confidently with partners and senior leadershipWhat's on Offer
