Job Description
Senior Customer Operations & Logistics Manager\n\nMulti-site leadership across two operational hubs. High-volume, multi-stage fleet logistics and field operations.\n\n£65,000 to £75,000 plus benefits\n\nNorth West & East Midlands (multi-site remit)\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nThis is a senior operational leadership role running a high-volume, time-critical customer logistics service across two operational centres.\n\nThe environment is sensitive in nature, but this is first and foremost a fleet, scheduling and operational delivery leadership role. The organisation operates at significant pace and scale, requiring structure, accountability and strong commercial discipline.\n\nYou will take ownership of a complex field operation involving multiple daily movements.
The role operates within a time-critical, multi-stage field logistics network, coordinating professionally managed, sensitive collections and transfers between locations and specialist environments, with continuous redeployment across the region.\n\nThis is not simple point-to-point transport. It is a high-frequency, multi-leg logistics model, delivered through dispersed teams and a regulated fleet operation, where professionalism, judgement and operational control are essential.\n\nOne operational hub is well established in the North West; a second site in the East Midlands will be mobilised and integrated during 2026/2027. You will stabilise, elevate and scale performance across both locations.\n\nOperational Scope\n\nYou will lead:\n* A shift-based, field workforce operating 24/7\n* High-volume scheduling, dispatch and rota planning\n* Fleet readiness, compliance and vehicle governance\n* Service recovery, escalation and operational decision-making\n* Multi-site mobilisation and consistent standards across regions\n\nThis role demands calm authority, pace, and the operational grip to run a time-critical service where mistakes carry significant reputational consequence, particularly given the nature of the environments and customers being supported.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n* Lead multi-site operational teams across two hubs, driving structure, pace and accountability\n* Own the end-to-end logistics model for a high-volume, multi-stage field operation\n* Oversee scheduling, dispatch, route planning and workforce deployment\n* Ensure fleet compliance, safety standards, audit readiness and operational governance\n* Drive performance metrics including OTIF, utilisation, cost-to-serve and service stability\n* Manage real-time disruption and service recovery with clear operational control\n* Mobilise and integrate the second site, embedding consistent processes and leadership standards\n* Act as the senior escalation point for complex operational decision- making\n\nCandidate Profile\n\nThis is not a first-step leadership role.
It requires a proven senior operator who has led fleet and logistics delivery at scale.\n\nYou may come from backgrounds such as:\n* Fleet-led service delivery organisations (multi-vehicle, multi-route)\n* Time-critical logistics or regulated transport operations\n* Utilities, engineering response or high-volume home service logistics\n* Multi-site transport, dispatch or scheduling leadership environments\n* Complex routing operations with multi-leg movement patterns\n\nSector experience is not essential. What matters is operational leadership capability, fleet discipline and professionalism in order to add value to an operation which is growing rapidly at scale, within a service that requires discretion, sensitive handling and respect.\n\nKey Requirements\n\n* Proven leadership of dispersed, shift-based field logistics teams\n* Strong routing, scheduling, rota planning and capacity modelling expertise\n* Deep understanding of fleet operations, readiness and compliance\n* Commercial acumen and performance-driven operational mindset\n* Resilience, professionalism and sound judgement in a highly sensitive service environment\n\nDesirable: Transport Manager CPC or strong working knowledge of fleet compliance governance.\nLocation\n\nMulti -site responsibility across the North West and East Midlands.\n\nIdeal commutable locations include Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire and surrounding corridors.\n\nSalary & Benefits\n\n£65,000 to £75,000 plus an excellent benefits package, including generous annual leave, pension, life assurance and wellbeing support.\n\nHow to Apply\nTo express interest, please apply via this advertisement. All enquiries are handled discreetly.\n\nSenior Customer Operations & Logistics Manager (Fleet & Multi-Site)\nSenior Logistics & Fleet Operations Manager (High-Volume Field Service)\nRegional Operations Manager - Fleet, Scheduling & Dispatch\nSenior Transport & Service Delivery Manager (24/7 Operation)\nMulti-Site Fleet & Logistics Leader (North West)
