Senior Data Engineer

London (2 days per week in office)

£80,000 – £90,000 + 15–30% bonus]

We are partnering with a prestigious financial services firm building one of the most advanced Snowflake platforms in the UK. This is a high-impact role within a modern data engineering function focused on scalable data, AI enablement, and platform innovation.

You will join a growing team, working hands-on across Snowflake while helping mentor junior engineers and shape best practice across the platform.

Role Overview

• Build and optimise data solutions in Snowflake
• Develop pipelines using Python and SQL
• Work across Snowpark, SnowSQL, Dynamic Tables, Cortex
• Support AI use cases using Snowflake Cortex
• Ensure strong data quality and governance standards
• Mentor junior Data Engineers and support onboarding
• Contribute to testing and rollout of new platform capabilities

Essential Skills

• Strong hands-on Snowflake experience (deep expertise required)
• Excellent Python and SQL skills
• Experience building scalable data pipelines
• Strong understanding of data quality principles
• Comfortable mentoring junior team members

Desirable

• Experience with Snowflake Cortex / AI features
• Exposure to financial services or financial data environments
• Understanding of financial modelling or external data products
