What will you be doing?
Lead and support Design Engineers within the team
Prioritise workload and manage project schedules to meet business targets
Act as key technical interface with customers; manage requirements and updates
Oversee design validation to ensure performance and reliability
Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and reports
Drive new product development and continuous improvement
Support prototype builds and testing activities
Present design solutions and progress to internal stakeholders
Mentor and develop junior engineers
Where will you be doing it?
You'll be based at an established engineering and manufacturing site in Kendal, working within a detailed design team focused on pump products. The role supports global OEM customers across power generation and industrial markets, with close collaboration across cross functional engineering teams in a hands on, technically driven environment.
What will you need?
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar; or equivalent experience
Strong post qualification experience in design engineering
Experience with rotating equipment; pumps or turbomachinery preferred
Understanding of engineering design processes and product lifecycle
Strong 3D CAD capability; SolidWorks preferred
Experience producing and reviewing technical drawings and specifications
Strong knowledge of tolerancing and GD&T
Experience leading or mentoring engineers
Good stakeholder management and communication skills
Organised approach with ability to manage deadlines
