Senior Developer / Lead Architect - Systematic Hedge Fund
New Yesterday
Job Description
The ideal candidate will be hands-on, pragmatic, and capable of balancing strategic design with day-to-day development. This is not a management-heavy role; the team is lean, so the ability and willingness to code daily is essential. Experience working at a mid-sized hedge fund or asset manager is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build data pipelines to ingest and process large volumes of financial data from various vendors
- Collaborate with researchers and traders to develop and support high-performance trading systems
- Develop monitoring tools and dashboards to ensure system stability
- Lead the adoption of best practices in software development, testing, and deployment
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers as the team grows
- Take a lead role in shaping the firm’s technical architecture and infrastructure strategy
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Python or C# development within financial services (ideally hedge funds)
- Strong experience with data engineering, ETL pipelines, and SQL databases
- Familiarity with modern DevOps practices including CI/CD, version control, and containerization
- Experience with cloud services (Azure preferred, but open to others)
- Demonstrated ability to work in small teams and take ownership of critical systems
- Strong academic background in computer science, engineering, or a related field
This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact within a growing fund. The team is lean and performance-driven, offering exposure to both the trading floor and senior leadership. Ideal for someone looking to step up into a broader technical leadership role without giving up hands-on coding.
