Job Title: Senior Electronics Design Engineer\nLocation: South East UK (Onsite / Hybrid)\nSalary: £50,000-£55,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nWe are partnering with a highly respected advanced engineering organisation operating at the forefront of mission-critical electronics and high-reliability systems. Supplying into aerospace, defence, space and specialist industrial markets, this business is known for precision, innovation and engineering excellence.\n\nThey are now seeking a Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join their R&D function, taking ownership of complex electronic system design from concept through to production release.\n\nThis is a technically demanding role suited to an experienced engineer who thrives in high-integrity, regulated environments.\n\nThe Role\n\nYou will be responsible for leading the design and development of analogue and digital electronic systems used in high-performance applications.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nFull lifecycle electronic design (concept, schematic capture, PCB layout oversight, validation, production release)\n\nAnalogue and mixed-signal circuit design (low-noise, precision measurement, power management)\n\nDigital design including microcontrollers, FPGA or high-speed interfaces\n\nDesign for EMC compliance and regulatory standards\n\nSupport environmental qualification (temperature, vibration, shock testing)\n\nConduct design reviews, FMEA and risk mitigation\n\nSupport transition from prototype to manufacturing\n\nWork cross-functionally with mechanical, systems and firmware engineers\n\nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers\n\nRequired Experience\n\nDegree qualified in Electronic Engineering or related discipline\n\n8+ years' experience in electronic design within aerospace, defence, instrumentation or similar high-reliability sector\n\nStrong analogue design capability (signal conditioning, power electronics, sensor interfaces)\n\nExperience with PCB design tools (Altium, Mentor, or similar)\n\nUnderstanding of EMC/EMI mitigation techniques\n\nExperience working to regulated standards (e.g. aerospace or defence compliance frameworks)\n\nFamiliarity with FPGA or embedded systems advantageous\n\nExperience taking products from concept to production\n\nThe Ideal Profile\n\nTechnically rigorous with strong analytical ability\n\nComfortable working in structured engineering and gated design processes\n\nDetail -oriented with high documentation standards\n\nCollaborative team player within multidisciplinary environments\n\nComfortable interfacing with customers or external stakeholders when required\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\nOpportunity to work on cutting-edge, mission-critical technology\n\nClear technical progression pathway\n\nStable long-term growth within a globally recognised engineering business\n\nWR Engineering are the #1 recruitment partner for engineering, manufacturing & technical sales jobs.
