Job Description
We are looking for a passionate electronics engineer to join our team in Cumbernauld!
The role shall be responsible for developing innovative electronics design solutions for Emerson's diverse range of products. It also includes sustaining activities on existing products and supporting regulatory testing and approvals of new products. They also provide support and mentorship to junior engineers, to improve technical capacity in the team.

In this role, your responsibilities will be:
- Provide innovative and robust electronic design solutions to product requirements
- Liaise with approvals bodies and provide strong technical justifications to confirm product compliance against adversarial decisions
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members
- Work with the chosen contract manufacturer and internal colleagues as appropriate to transfer the electronic product design to manufacturing.
- Creation and maintenance of manufacturing build documentation and bills of material.
- Creation of manufacturing test documentation to facilitate effective test of electronics designs
- Creation of design verification test (DVT) protocols and performing design verification activities to agreed protocols
- Creation of EMC test plans and custom test setups
- Carry out in house pre-compliance EMC checks and diagnose failure modes and EMC test activities at external test facilities
- Build factory acceptance tests for externally manufactured PCB assemblies
- Provide support to manufacturing for delivery of tested PCB assemblies, ensuring PCB's meet factory acceptance criteria

For this role you will need:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering or related subject, with experience in electronics design.
- A solid understanding of analogue, digital and mixed circuit design, with experience in using simulation, Schematic and PCB layout design tools.
- Practical experience in board bring up and debug using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Experience in design for signal integrity and EMC.
- Strong technical problem solving skills.
Preferred qualifications that set you apart:

- Previous experience working in a matrix organization.
