Job Description
Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Electronic Warfare & SDR
Location: Southampton (Hybrid: 3 days per week onsite)
Duration : 6 months (Initial)
Rate: £735 per day (Inside IR35)
Security Clearance : SC Clearance (Must be currently held)
The Role
This is a high-impact role where you will design and implement efficient, Real Time systems for diverse projects spanning Array Processing, Communications, and Sensors. You will be at the heart of the development life cycle, applying emerging technologies to mission-critical hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Implementation: Build robust Real Time software for advanced Electronic Warfare applications.
Full-Stack Embedded Dev: Work across the spectrum from low-level drivers to Embedded Linux platform development.
Innovation: Stay at the forefront of the industry by integrating latest System on Chip (SoC) capabilities.
Collaboration: Work within a modern DevOps environment, ensuring high standards through continuous integration and rigorous testing.
Your Technical Skills
We are looking for an engineer who is comfortable close to the hardware and understands the intricacies of Real Time constraints.
The Essentials:
C/C++: Deep expertise in C and/or C++ for Embedded systems.
Embedded Linux: Proven experience in platform development within a Linux environment.
SoC Knowledge: Familiarity with the latest System on Chip architectures.
Modern Practices: Strong experience with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines.
Rigorous Testing: Experience conducting thorough unit and system-level testing.
Clearance: You must hold current SC Clearance
The "Value Add" (Desirable):
DSP: Experience developing and implementing Digital Signal Processing algorithms.
Modelling: Proficiency in MATLAB for algorithm simulation.
Firmware: Expertise in VHDL for FPGA development.
SDR: Knowledge of modern Software Defined Radio platforms.
Domain Knowledge: An awareness of Electronic Warfare principles.
