We're excited to be expanding our team and are looking for a Senior Environmental Specialist to come on board. Location: Nationwide - travel to sites and offices required with remote working available
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Salary: £48,000 per annum plus £5,900 car allowance and benefits
What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Environmental Specialist, you'll be working within the Environmental team, supporting them in acting as a focal point for environmental advice and leading on environmental impact assessments, permits, licences and consent applications along with overall project sustainability performance.
Your day to day will include:
- Supporting the delivery of environmental consultancy services across a range of sectors including road, rail, water and property, leading on environmental impact assessments for projects, identifying key environmental risks, proposing mitigation strategies and developing management plans
- Obtaining all relevant environmental permits, licences and consents in a timely manner, working closely with designers in minimising environmental impacts and maximising environmental benefits
- Promoting decarbonisation, climate resilience, nature-based solutions and innovation across the business, authoring and reviewing technical environmental documents
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team, representing the team in client, stakeholder and technical meetings
- Input into bids and fee proposals, continuous improvement of environmental processes, procedures and related forms
This role of Senior Environmental Specialist is great for you if:
- You hold an environmental / sustainability degree and a practitioner member of IEMA (or equivalent) and working towards CEnv
- Hold a robust understanding of UK environmental legislation and policy, demonstrable experience undertaking environmental assessment for infrastructure or building projects, a good understanding of a breadth of environmental issues such as waste and materials management, water environment, air quality, noise, heritage, landscape and ecology, or a specialist in one of these topics
- Relevant level of knowledge of engineering / construction requirements and methodologies
