Senior Estimator – Hard Facilities Management

Location: Remote - Regular travel to client sites (Mainly based in the South East)

Salary: Circa £60,000 - £90,000 (Total package)


About the Role

We are exclusively partnering with a leading FM Service Provider who is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Estimator to lead the estimating function for Hard Facilities Management tenders and projects. This is a key commercial role, responsible for delivering accurate, competitive, and strategic cost submissions across a diverse portfolio of Hard FM contracts.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping bid strategy, managing complex estimates, mentoring junior estimators, and working closely with senior stakeholders to support business growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of complex Hard FM cost estimates for tenders, renewals, and major variations
  • Review tender documentation, specifications, and contractual requirements
  • Develop robust cost models covering labour, materials, subcontractors, lifecycle, risk, and overheads
  • Lead supplier and subcontractor pricing strategies and negotiations
  • Support bid strategy, pricing reviews, and final sign-off with senior management
  • Challenge assumptions and identify value engineering and cost optimisation opportunities
  • Ensure commercial compliance with frameworks, contracts, and governance processes
  • Mentor and support junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes


Essential Experience Required:

  • Significant experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within Hard FM or building services
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and fabric maintenance
  • Proven track record delivering successful FM bids and pricing strategies
  • Excellent commercial awareness and risk management capability
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and work under tight deadlines
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with estimating tools

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of lifecycle costing, asset management, and mobilisation costs
  • Background in quantity surveying, commercial management, or engineering
