Drive accountability, cost control, and financial performance while leading a high-performing team. Our client is a nationally significant organisation delivering a multi-billion-pound infrastructure programme. Operating within a highly complex environment, they require experienced finance professionals who can provide strategic insight, robust financial management, and strong stakeholder engagement to ensure value for money for the taxpayer. Responsibilities

Provide strategic financial support to senior leaders, influencing decision-making and cost management. Embed a culture of accountability, cost control, and productivity across supported directorates. Lead on financial planning, budgeting, reforecasting, and cash flow submissions. Deliver clear and insightful reporting, variance analysis, and performance interventions. Review and challenge business cases and funding requests to ensure value for money. Oversee financial controls, governance, and compliance with HM Treasury requirements. Manage and develop a team of Finance Business Partners, supporting skills growth and knowledge sharing. Drive consistent reporting methodologies and financial processes across the programme.

Profile / Qualifications

Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Proven track record in finance business partnering within a complex, large-scale environment, ideally infrastructure. Knowledge of government accounting requirements (DEL/AME funding) highly desirable. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders. Commercially astute, with the ability to identify and drive performance improvements. Experience managing teams and delivering results to challenging deadlines. Proficient in ERP systems, data analytics tools, and complex Excel modelling.
