We are pleased to be partnered with a leading renewable energy IPP who are seeking a Senior Grid Connections Manager for their growing London team

As Senior Grid Connections Manager, you’ll be responsible for establishing and growing relationships with District Network Operators across the UK. Maximising collaboration and optimising project delivery.

You’ll be responsible for a grid team who manage the connection application process.

This senior role sits across development, pre-construction, and construction and acts as the primary interface on all grid-related commercial matters.

You need to be commercially minded and have the ability to can guide our client through the non-technical elements of grid connections, including grid agreements, milestones, and strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial and programme engagement with DNOs
• Ensure collaborative relationships to ensure pro-active communication takes place throughout the grid connection process.
• Manage and coordinate the connection process for Solar PV and BESS projects from feasibility studies through the grid process and into construction
• Utilise industry experience to advance and improve connection solutions
• Assess grid connection options for both T&D connected Solar PV and BESS projects
• Input data related to grid connection costs including electrical equipment associated with the connection projects to assist in financial evaluation of projects.
• Support the delivery of the project pipeline to energisation by coordinating with the DNO
• Supporting the review of documentation and providing input as required
• Support the procurement and engineering teams
• Maintain productive relationships with network operators; monitor policy and connection process changes
• Act as the primary interface between the DNOs and internal teams

Experience Required:

• Minimum 7 years’ experience working in a grid connection environment within a DNO/TNO, consultancy or other IPP in the UK
• Experience interpreting and negotiating connection offers
• Knowledge of the technical fundamentals relating to grid connections
• Knowledge of the DNO/ICP process
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK
