We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, high‑calibre, revenue‑focused individual to take on a senior role in our award‑winning IFS practice.
Our Insurance & Financial Services (IFS) practice aims to be a leading advisor in our areas of specialism – in investment & asset liability management, risk and capital management and longevity. We have ambitious plans and look ahead confidently to growing our specialisms with new clients in the UK and overseas, and in both the life and general insurance markets.
What will your role look like?
The role will be focused on supporting our clients primarily on insurance investment and ALM work, with the individual expected to win and deliver projects in a diverse range of areas, which may include investment strategy, illiquid assets, credit and market risk modelling, internal model validation, matching adjustment optimisation, liquidity and sustainable investment.
Core to our requirements is the ability to win new client engagements and grow new and existing client relationships, while playing a key role in delivering assignments in a wide range of areas. It is also essential that the individual is energised by working on a project basis across multiple areas with a blend of commercial and technical leadership.
We are open to considering candidates on a part-time or full-time basis.
This is a varied role; and you will need to have:
Status as an industry expert in the area of investment and ALM for UK insurers, with proven experience of generating propositions and revenue
Strong strategic business acumen and knowledge of the issues, challenges and opportunities facing life and general insurers and reinsurers, in the UK, in Europe and beyond
Excellent consulting and leadership skills
Significant track record of leading the successful delivery of large and complex projects
Proven ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting demands
Determined and proactive, with high levels of energy, motivation and enthusiasm
Excellent network of contacts with a proven ability to leverage this and to grow revenue
Flexible in approach and comfortable with working in a changing environment
Strong personal values, including a commitment to professional and ethical behaviour, and continuous professional development
Ability to coach and mentor others
High emotional intelligence, excellent interpersonal skills, and comfortable in engaging with senior stakeholders
Clear, straightforward communication style, able to explain complex ideas in a straightforward way to lay audiences
Willing and able to travel where needed

To enjoy and succeed in this role, you will have:
A senior actuarial or other relevant professional qualification, with deep practitioner‑level insurance investment & ALM expertise
A demonstrable track record in winning work
Very strong knowledge of current and emerging hot topics in insurance investment & ALM
Very strong knowledge of Solvency UK, as well as equivalent regulatory regimes, such as Solvency II and Bermuda
Able to demonstrate a strong record in mentoring and in supporting the development of the next generation of the leaders and consultants
Predominantly experienced in working with a range of life insurers, but general insurance experience may be beneficial
