From third-line issue resolution to contributing to infrastructure improvements and projects, this is a varied role with a strong focus on virtualisation and Windows Server technologies. If you're calm under pressure, methodical in your work, and keen to have a meaningful impact in a high-assurance setting, this could be your next move. This is a role for a seasoned infrastructure engineer whos confident supporting on-premise systems in a highly secure, air-gapped environment. Youll take ownership of third-line incidents, contribute to technical upgrades, and play an active role in maintaining availability and performance across our virtual and physical environments. Your day will include supporting and improving VMware infrastructure, administering Windows Server environments, and helping ensure continuity through effective backup, recovery, and change management practices. Youll work on site at our unique facility to support and improve air-gapped infrastructure. This is a collaborative, hands-on role, working closely with internal delivery teams in a high-trust environment. How youll support us ? Youll provide reliable third-line support, resolving incidents and troubleshooting issues across our secure infrastructure. Day to day, youll maintain and administer Microsoft Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, while supporting and enhancing our VMware-based virtual infrastructure. Youll also manage backup and recovery processes using Veeam, ensuring data resilience and business continuity. Part of your role will include keeping technical documentation up to date, and contributing to service stability through proactive maintenance, system improvements, and adherence to change control processes. The invaluable experience youll bring, to help us achieve more Were expecting that youve done this role before, so youll know how to do it whilst spinning multiple plates: Essential experience Proven experience in server infrastructure support and administration Solid knowledge of VMware technologies (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter) Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy Desirable experience Exposure to HP infrastructure (e.g. Synergy, OneView, SAN) SharePoint 2016 support and administration Familiarity with Windows Server roles such as DFS, DHCP, DNS, Clustering Experience with Veeam backup and replication tools Understanding of ITIL principles and service management Basic Linux knowledge Our non-negotiables Due to the highly secure nature of the projects that you will be involved with, you must be: A UK National and eligible to work in the UK Eligible to obtain and maintain a UK Government Developed Vetting (DV) clearance Who is MASS?
