Role: Senior Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £60,000

Location: Nottingham

Shifts: Core hours worked at 6-7pm with typical hours per week rotating 6-3pm / 10-7pm

Are you an experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer from an FMCG or fast paced manufacturing background? I am recruiting for a Senior Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced food manufacturing site based in Nottingham offering a salary of £60k. This role is hands-on but senior - you'll set standards, mentor engineers and lead projects that reduces downtime, improves efficiency, and supports automation rollouts.

The Role:

Lead reactive and planned maintenance across production machinery

Take ownership of and continuously improve the PPM system

Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical/electrical issues

Develop junior engineers and apprentices through mentoring and support

Coordinate daily jobs, allocating tasks based on skill and urgency

Collaborate with production to minimise downtime and anticipate failures

Work on systems including conveyors, weighers, chillers, sealers, mixers & packaging lines

Ideal Candidate:

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent - Ideally apprentice trained

Experience in FMCG or a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Proven leadership experience - managing or mentoring engineers

Multi-skilled bias (mechanical/electrical)

Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities

Comfortable managing both tools and team planning

Project involvement experience (e.g. installation of new lines)
