Role Overview

This role supports a long-term, multi-year engineering programme focused on delivering high-integrity electronic and electromechanical systems. You will play a key part in ensuring products are designed with scalable, supportable and cost-effective manufacturing in mind, from initial concept through to decades of in-service support.

Key Responsibilities

Design for Manufacture (DfM)

Develop and implement innovative DfM processes to support scalable, efficient, and cost-effective production systems. Work closely with design, systems, and manufacturing teams to embed DfM principles early in the product lifecycle. Optimise manufacturing processes for high-complexity, medium-volume products.

Manufacturing Process Development

Support the creation of business and engineering processes that enable scalable, repeatable manufacturing. Identify and drive automation and digital manufacturing opportunities to enhance quality, consistency, cost efficiency, and throughput. Lead design reviews, DFMEAs, PFMEAs, and validation activities. Provide technical input for make/buy decisions and cost modelling.
