About the role

In this role, you will be responsible for managing mechanical and electrical services in project delivery. You will work closely with clients, design teams, colleagues, and stakeholders to monitor and report on costs and risks throughout all stages of the project.

As a Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will work on a hybrid basis from one of our offices (London, Brighton, or Kent) and support the development of Assistant Quantity Surveyors within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Estimating and cost planning, including feasibility studies and estimates from minimal design information to detailed cost plans.
2. Preparation of tender documentation packages.
3. Attendance at site visits.
4. Completion of contract documents.
5. Involvement in Value Engineering exercises.
6. Negotiation of final accounts.
7. Update and monitor cost and revenue profiles through resource management.
8. Negotiations with contractors to establish budgets.
9. Provide contractual advice pre and post contract to design team members and clients.
10. Settlement of final account packages, including claim negotiations.
11. Check the quality and completeness of professional fee proposals.
12. Participate in training and development of Assistant Quantity Surveyors.

Qualifications:

• Chartered accreditation preferred but not essential.
• Extensive experience in a similar construction role.
• Ability to manage large and complex projects throughout their lifecycle.
• Excellent technical and project knowledge.
• Strong fee management and bidding skills.
• Proven ability to generate new business through client relations.
• Knowledge of CDM and construction health & safety standards.
