Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Data Centres

Nr Bracknell, Berkshire – Hybrid Working

Building Services / Mechanical Design Engineer / Critical Systems / Mechanical Engineer / Data Centre

This role is to join a highly regarded data centre company, upon joining you will be part of a diverse team of design specialists all supporting one another in their specialist capacities.

Responsibilities

As an integral member of the consultancy, you will be developing designs for mechanical systems for data centre projects globally. The role will include supporting meetings with the client, contractors, and other designers. Site visits will also be required to monitor whether the construction is in accordance with the design and to resolve site queries. Supporting senior management in business and technical development. Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team and assist with their professional development. Coordinating work with engineers of other disciplines to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget. Produce detailed and performance specification for the discipline subject to review by colleagues prior to issue. Produce detailed equipment and carry out detailed calculations. System modelling

Qualifications

MEng / BEng Mechanical Engineering or Building Services, with chartered status or working towards chartership. A proven track record of developing complex mechanical designs and supporting the delivery. Able to work using your own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of your discipline or have specific specialist experience in data centre design. Be able to work closely with other team members. Experience of manging projects. Have a strong desire for career progression allied to improving skills and professional development.
