Position: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Castle Donington - Hybrid

Contract: Outside IR35

Type: Full-Time

The Role

This is an outside IR25 assignment expected to last between 6 - 12 months with the successful contractor involved in the design of a range of fabrications and components used in turbomachinery applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using Siemens NX.

Generate engineering drawings

Perform engineering design calculations eg Perform tolerance stack-up analysis , bolted joint.

Preparation of engineering design reports

Engage with suppliers and lead design for manufacturing activities

Ensure designs meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Required qualifications and experience:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Experience designing castings, machined parts and fabrications.

Experience using BS8888 and/or ASME Y14.5

Proficiency in NX software.

Strong skills in mechanical calculations.

Experience designing turbomachinery components such as casings, piping and structures is essential.

Experience using Teamcenter, or similar PLM systems.

Good communication skills with the ability to work in a small team as a self-starter
