Your new role
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services across a diverse portfolio of projects. You'll have responsibility for developing concept, scheme and detailed designs, ensuring all mechanical solutions are efficient, sustainable and aligned with client expectations.Your responsibilities will include:
Designing HVAC systems, heating and cooling strategies, ventilation, public health systems and low-carbon solutions.
Coordinating with electrical engineers, architects, structural engineers and wider design teams to deliver integrated, technically robust designs.
Managing client relationships, attending design and progress meetings, and presenting technical information with clarity and confidence.
Providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers while contributing to the overall development of the mechanical engineering capability within the team.
This senior, client-facing role offers autonomy, influence and the opportunity to shape the engineering direction of key regional projects.
What you'll need to succeed
Significant consultancy experience in mechanical building services design.
Strong technical knowledge of UK building regulations, CIBSE standards and industry best practice.
Proficiency with relevant software such as AutoCAD, Revit, IES/Hevacomp and other mechanical design tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client interfaces effectively.
A degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering, Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or progression towards chartership is highly desirable.
